Is this too big for a normal sized kitchen?
It depends on ceiling height and island size. A 100cm pendant suits islands longer than about 120cm. If your space is more compact, the 3 light version gives you a similar look at a smaller scale.

Do all the bulbs need to be on?
You can use individual bulbs to control brightness, though for best visual effect it works better with most or all of them lit.

Does it come pre assembled?
The shades and frame come separately, but assembly is straightforward and an electrician will fit it during installation.
