This is one of the largest pieces in the Grosvenor collection, with 24 lights built into a spherical frame of polished chrome and crystal glass drops. Hung somewhere with real height, such as a stairwell or a double height hallway, it fills the space in a way a smaller pendant simply couldn't, throwing light outward in every direction rather than straight down.

Choosing Your Finish

Polished chrome brings out the sparkle in the crystal drops particularly well, giving the sphere a bright, faceted look from any angle. As part of the wider Grosvenor collection, this design is also produced in other finishes, so it's worth checking the range if you have a different metal finish elsewhere in the room.

How It Works

Twenty four G9 capsule bulbs are needed to light the full sphere, each rated up to 10W and not included with the fitting. Given its size and weight, an adaptor is required as part of installation, so it's worth planning for this before fitting day. It's dimmable if dimmable bulbs are used. Electrically it's Class I, requiring an earth connection. The IP20 rating means it's built for dry indoor rooms only.

Where It Works Best

With a maximum drop of up to 400cm and an 80cm diameter, this needs genuine height and space to work properly, which makes a stairwell, double height hallway or a large dining room the obvious places to hang it. As an IP20 fitting it belongs strictly in dry indoor rooms, so keep it well away from bathrooms or anywhere damp.

Design Details

Made from iron, crystal and K9 glass, the sphere shape is built from many individually angled stems rather than a single moulded piece, which is what gives it that faceted, sparkling look when the lights are on. At 20kg it's a substantial piece of engineering as much as a decorative one, built to hold its shape and stay balanced despite the number of drops involved.
