This version of Farnley takes the same circular frame and multiplies it 24 times over, but swaps clear glass for smoked shades that mute the bulbs just enough to soften the overall glow. It's a touch smaller than the largest option in the range, though it still has plenty of scale to work as the sole light in a room.

Choosing Your Finish

Here the satin black ring is fitted with smoked glass shades, which take some of the sharpness out of the bulb without losing the fitting's circular impact. If you'd rather see the bulbs unobscured, Farnley is also available with clear glass elsewhere in the range, so it's worth comparing the two before deciding.

How It Works

You'll need 24 G9 capsule bulbs, 10W maximum each, to light this fully, none of which are included. It's dimmable as long as dimmable bulbs are fitted, and the wiring is to Class I standard, meaning an earth connection is required. Rated IP20, it's intended for dry indoor rooms only, not anywhere exposed to steam or moisture.

Where It Works Best

At 80cm across, it works well over a kitchen island or dining table, and has enough presence for a hallway or stairwell too. It also suits an open plan living room where a single strong light source makes sense. Its IP20 rating means bathrooms are off the table, so stick to dry rooms.
