A Long Run of Brass and Glass Above the Table

This oblong Farnley pendant lines up 24 clear glass rods along a brass frame, giving you a full metre of light to hang over a dining table, kitchen island or run of worktop. Depending on how the fitter angles the rods, you can have them all standing neatly upright for a tidy, cylindrical row, or turned slightly to give the whole piece a more scattered, textured feel.

Choosing Your Finish

Here the brass frame is paired with clear glass, so light passes straight through the rods rather than being softened or tinted, giving a bright and slightly more formal look than the smoked or amber versions. If brass and clear glass isn't quite what your room needs, this same fitting is produced in other finishes and glass tones across the range.

How It Works

The fitting takes 24 G9 capsule bulbs, 10W maximum each, which are not supplied and will need to be bought separately. It's dimmable as long as you fit dimmable bulbs and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. Wiring is to Class I standard, so it needs to be connected to earth during installation. With an IP20 rating, this pendant is built for dry indoor rooms only and isn't suitable for bathrooms or anywhere it might get splashed.

Where It Works Best

Its length makes it a natural fit above a long dining table, a kitchen island or a run of counter space, and it also works well in an open plan living room, hallway or stairwell where you want a strong horizontal feature. As it's rated IP20, keep it to dry indoor rooms rather than anywhere near moisture.

Part of the Farnley range, this pendant is built around a simple idea, an iron frame holding a row of glass rods that catch the light from every angle. The oblong shape gives it a different presence to the round versions in the same range, better suited to long runs and linear spaces, while the materials keep the overall look understated rather than fussy.
