Appleby takes a graphite frame and fills it with a scattered arrangement of satin nickel tubes and smoke glass shades, giving twelve lights an almost random, layered look rather than a neat symmetrical pattern. It is a fixed pendant, so the drop height is set, and the cluster effect makes it read as one large fitting rather than twelve separate lights.
The mix of dark graphite, satin nickel and smoked glass gives it a moody, industrial edge that suits a kitchen island, open plan dining space or a double height stairwell where there is room for it to hang as a real focal point.
