Elstead Verity Single Bathroom Wall Light - Brushed Brass

A torch reimagined for the wall

Verity takes the classic torchiere and pares it right back, tapering a slender brushed brass column, just over half a metre tall, to a sharp point beneath a faceted glass shade cut in a crisp diamond pattern. It reaches about 20cm out from the wall and reads more like a piece of sculpture than a fitting.

Finish

The brushed brass gives the whole piece a warm, softly matte gold tone rather than a mirror shine, so the faceted glass shade above does most of the sparkling. Every edge on the column and backplate is bevelled, catching the light differently depending on where you're standing.

How it works

A single G9 bulb sits inside the cut glass shade, throwing light both upward through the crystal facets and gently outward into the room. Fit a dimmable bulb and the light responds to a dimmer switch, so you can take it from a discreet backdrop glow to something brighter.

Where it works best

Verity is IP44 rated, so it copes well with bathroom steam and splashes, whether that's beside a mirror or flanking a shower enclosure. It's just as happy in a hallway, on a landing, or in a living space where you want a single strong vertical accent rather than a full pendant.

This brushed brass finish sits alongside polished chrome and polished gold versions of the same design, so if you're lighting a run of mirrors or fitting a pair either side of a cabinet, you can match the finish to the rest of your bathroom hardware.
