Glenbeigh is a plain opal globe held in a black frame and hung on a chain, built for spots where you want a soft pool of light rather than a decorative feature. It suits a porch roof, a covered canopy or an entrance where the light needs to fall down and out rather than up onto a wall.

Frame and globe are moulded from black polymer and polycarbonate rather than painted metal and glass, so there's no coating to flake or metal to rust with years spent outside. The globe itself is an opal diffuser, spreading the bulb's light evenly across its surface rather than showing a single bright point through clear glass.
How It Works
A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the globe, and Glenbeigh will dim if you fit a dimmable LED bulb, though the bulb itself isn't included. The chain lets you set the drop anywhere from 53.5cm to 73cm below the ceiling point at installation, and the fitting is wired to Class II double insulated standards, so it doesn't rely on an earth connection.
Where It Works Best
Glenbeigh is suited to a covered porch, a canopy over a front door, or any sheltered entrance where a hanging globe reads better than a flush or wall mounted fitting. It's IP44 rated, so it copes with wind driven rain and damp in an exposed spot as well as a more sheltered doorway.
Elstead Lighting
Glenbeigh comes from Elstead Lighting, a British decorative lighting group whose roots trace back to The Elstead Forge in Alton, Hampshire, and which remains led by the same Lucas family today.
