A Wall Light That Paints With Light
The WL041 IP is not there to flood a space with light. It is there to be looked at. A compact aluminium disc holds over a hundred fine radiating fins, and once the integrated LED is switched on it throws a striking fan shaped burst of light across the wall, ceiling or floor beside it. It suits a spot where the pattern itself is the feature, an entrance, a covered walkway or a garden wall after dark.
Anodised Aluminium, Built For The Elements
This version is finished in anodised aluminium, a hard wearing surface that keeps its silvery tone outdoors without flaking or corroding the way a painted finish can. The fins are pressed from the same material as the body, so the whole fitting reads as one solid disc rather than a light with a separate shade bolted on. It works well against render, brick or stone, and pairs naturally with other aluminium or stainless steel exterior fittings nearby.
How It Works
The WL041 IP wires straight to mains, with the driver built into the fitting itself, so there is no separate transformer or driver box to find space for. It comes with a mounting bracket and waterproof crimp connectors, and the wiring is parallel, which means several units can be looped off the same circuit rather than each needing its own dedicated run back to the switch. The LED is fixed at 1.6W and is available as 3000K warm white, rated up to 33 lumens, or 4000K neutral white, rated up to 37 lumens. Because the light source is built in rather than a swappable lamp, the fitting is designed to run for the long term without maintenance.
Rated IP65, the WL041 IP is sealed against dust and jets of water, which makes it suitable for exterior walls and also for bathroom lighting zones 1 and 2. Read our guide to bathroom lighting zones if you are placing it near a shower or bath.
Where It Works Best
Outdoors, it earns its keep on a porch, a garden boundary wall, either side of a front door or along a covered terrace, anywhere the fan of light can fall across a plain surface rather than being lost against foliage. It is equally at home indoors as a wet room or bathroom feature light, mounted low on a tiled wall where the starburst pattern plays across the surface. Because the output is modest, it is best used as a decorative accent or wayfinding light rather than as the main source of illumination in a space.
