A Compact Spotlight Built to Work Underwater
The UL010 is a small, adjustable spotlight from Collingwood built to survive somewhere most garden lights would fail: fully submerged in a pond or fountain. It tilts and rotates through a full 360 degree range on its yoke bracket, so once it is bolted down you can still point the beam exactly where you want it, at a specimen tree, a wall, or a water feature. What sets this submersible garden spotlight apart is the IP68 rating, verified to 9 metres underwater, alongside a body that copes just as well mounted dry on a wall or fence post.
Finished in Brass, Built on a Stainless Steel Body
This version is finished in brass over a body machined from 316 marine grade stainless steel, so it keeps the strength needed for constant contact with water while showing a warm metallic tone on the outside. Expect the brass to darken and take on a deeper, more burnished character with outdoor exposure over time, the way garden brassware naturally weathers. The lens sits inside a round housing held by two hex adjuster bolts on the sides of the head, which is what lets you lock the tilt once you have found the angle you want.
How It Works
Inside is a single 3W LED run at 700mA, giving out around 92 to 95 lumens depending on whether you choose 2700K or 3000K, through a narrow 26 degree beam with a CRI of 80 for reasonably true colour rendering. The light arrives with 3 metres of cable already attached, wired in series with other Collingwood low voltage fittings, plus the wall fixings and square mounting plate needed to bolt it in place. As a low voltage, Class III fitting it needs a separate Collingwood driver rather than a direct mains connection, and the LED itself is sealed in and cannot be replaced, so the colour temperature chosen at checkout is permanent.
Where It Works Best
This brass underwater light is built for gardens, ponds and other outdoor water features rather than indoor rooms. Submerge it to uplight a fountain or the inside wall of a pond, fix it to a post or fence to graze light across brickwork or bark, or angle it up into the canopy of a tree. The 360 degree swivel means a single fitting can cover several angles from one fixing point, useful in a border where running extra cable is awkward. Its IP68 rating comfortably exceeds the requirements for any bathroom zone, so it is also suitable for bathroom use. See Moonlight Design's guide to bathroom lighting zones for how those ratings work in practice.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood designs and builds its LED fittings at its own site in Sywell, Northamptonshire, and has worked solely with LED technology since 2002. Collingwood says it was among the first manufacturers to bring fire rated, fully sealed for life and mains dimmable LED products into the UK electrical wholesale market, a heritage that sits comfortably alongside a fitting engineered to survive full submersion. The company has also been awarded an EcoVadis Gold medal, placing it in the top 5 percent of businesses assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Can the Collingwood UL010 be fully submerged in water?
Yes. It carries an IP68 rating and Collingwood states it is submersible to a depth of 9 metres, so it can be permanently fitted inside a pond or fountain rather than only used in damp locations.
Does the brass UL010 need a separate driver to run?
Yes. It is a low voltage, Class III fitting supplied with 3 metres of cable, and it must be run from a separate Collingwood LED driver rather than connected directly to a mains supply.
Can the colour temperature be changed after buying it?
No. The LED is sealed into the fitting and cannot be swapped out, so the 2700K or 3000K option has to be chosen at the point of ordering.
Is the brass finish solid brass or a coating?
The UL010 is built on a 316 marine grade stainless steel body finished in brass, so the surface will darken and develop a deeper tone with outdoor exposure over time rather than staying a uniform bright gold.
What beam angle does the UL010 produce?
It projects a narrow 26 degree beam, which suits spotlighting a single feature such as a tree, wall or water jet rather than washing a wide area with light.
