A Downlight Built to Disappear
The Collingwood H5 Trimless is designed to vanish into the ceiling. There's no visible bezel or trim ring once it's fitted, just a clean plastered surface with the light shining through. It's the fitting to choose when you want the ceiling itself to stay the focus, not the hardware sitting on it.
Finished in White
This version comes in a white finish, made from mild steel with VO rated plastic components. The recessed body measures 70mm in length by 172mm in width, with a recessed flange of 114mm diameter and a flange of 64mm diameter. The cutout size is 60 to 72mm, so it's worth checking that against your ceiling structure before you commit to a hole.
How It Works
The LED is built into the fitting rather than sitting in a replaceable bulb, running at 5.5W with a colour rendering index of 80 and a 38 degree beam angle. You can choose between 3000K warm white or 4000K neutral white when you order. It's mains dimmable, wired in parallel, and rated Class II, and it doesn't need a separate driver since the mains driver is built straight into the unit.
Where It Works Best
Because it disappears so completely, the H5 Trimless suits rooms where you want light without visual clutter, kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and offices included. With an IP65 rating it's also built for bathroom zone 1, making it a genuine option for wet or steamy spaces. If you're planning bathroom lighting, our guide to bathroom lighting zones is worth a read before you settle on a position for it. It's equally at home in commercial spaces that call for a fire rated downlight fitted flush to the ceiling.

Questions People Ask
What's the difference between the 3000K and 4000K versions?
3000K gives a warm white light and 4000K gives a cooler, neutral white light. Both run at the same 5.5W output and 38 degree beam angle, so the choice is about colour tone rather than brightness.
Do I need a separate driver for this downlight?
No. The mains driver is built into the fitting, so it wires directly to your mains supply without an additional driver unit.
Can I use this in a bathroom?
Yes. It's rated IP65 and suitable for bathroom zone 1, though it's worth checking our bathroom lighting zones guide to confirm it's right for the exact spot you have in mind.
Can the LED be replaced if it fails?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting rather than a separate replaceable bulb, so the whole unit is replaced if the light source ever fails.
What size hole do I need to cut in the ceiling?
The cutout size is 60 to 72mm. Check this against the recessed body dimensions and your ceiling joists before you start first fix.
