The 1901 is part of Collingwood's architectural downlight range, and this fixed version is designed to sit quietly in the ceiling rather than draw attention to itself. It's a genuine fire rated fixture, so it's a sensible choice anywhere building regulations call for fire resistance at ceiling level.

This version comes in an all white aluminium finish, with a slim round bezel that blends into a white ceiling rather than standing out as a fitting in its own right. It suits freshly plastered or painted ceilings where you want the light doing the work, not the hardware.

How It Works

Inside is a single 9.6W LED module, available in 2700K, 3000K or 4000K, or a dim to warm option that shifts from 3000K down to 1800K as you dim it, for a candle like glow at low levels. You can also choose from four beam angles, 12°, 24°, 45° or 50°, so the same fitting can throw a tight spot or a broad wash depending on where it's going.

It's dimmable, but the driver is supplied separately and matched to whichever dimming method you're using, mains, 1 to 10V or DALI. Wiring is parallel, so it's straightforward to run several fittings from one circuit, and connections are plug and play, which keeps first and second fix simple. Ceiling cutout is 65 to 78mm.

Where It Works Best

Because it's fixed rather than adjustable, it suits spaces where you want a consistent, even spread of light rather than the ability to angle each fitting, think hallways, stairs, kitchens, living rooms and dining rooms.
