A Downlight That's Sealed Against the Weather, Not Just the Rain
Most outdoor downlights only seal the front. The H2 Pro Extreme seals the back too, with a full IP65 rating from both above and below the fitting. That matters most when it's set into a soffit or canopy, where moisture can creep in from the roof space long before it ever reaches the visible face. Sealing both sides closes off that weak point, so the fitting stays protected whichever direction the water is coming from.
Anthracite Grey, Built for Exposure
This version comes in anthracite grey, with a finish treated to resist corrosion and salt spray. That makes it a sensible pick for homes near the coast, as well as porches, garages and commercial exteriors further inland. The body is aluminium and plastic, kept low profile at 90mm diameter and 52mm depth, so it sits neatly into a ceiling or canopy without drawing attention to itself.
How It Works
- The LED is integral and not user replaceable, so there's nothing to buy or swap out over its lifespan
- It wires straight to the mains with parallel wiring, no separate driver needed
- A CCT switch on the back lets you set the colour temperature to 2200K, 2700K or 3000K, giving 480, 570 and 560 lumens respectively
- It's mains dimmable, provided it's paired with a compatible dimmer switch
- A 40 degree beam angle spreads the light without a sharp hotspot
- Needs a 65 to 75mm cutout and draws a fixed 5W
Where It Works Best
This one earns its keep outdoors. Think covered porches, entrance canopies, garage ceilings and soffits along the edge of a roofline, plus commercial building exteriors that need something that can take a proper soaking. Because the seal covers both sides, it's a particularly good fit for coastal properties, where salt laden air causes ordinary outdoor fittings to corrode from behind. Being rated to IP65, it also meets the requirements for bathroom zones 1 and 2 if you'd rather use it indoors. Our guide to bathroom lighting zones explains what each zone allows.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. The brand states it was among the first to bring fire rated, fully waterproof, sealed for life LED products to the UK electrical wholesale market, and a fitting like the H2 Pro Extreme, sealed on both faces against the weather, is a good example of that approach in practice. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Does this downlight need a separate driver?
No. It wires straight to the mains and has no external driver to install or replace.
Can I change the colour temperature after it's fitted?
The CCT switch is on the back of the unit, so it needs to be set before the fitting is pushed up into the ceiling or accessed from above if the void allows it.
Is it actually safe to use outdoors and in wet locations?
Yes. It carries an IP65 rating covering both the front and rear of the fitting, which is what allows it to be used in soffits and canopies where moisture can otherwise get in from above.
Will it work with a dimmer switch?
Yes, it's mains dimmable, though it needs to be paired with a dimmer switch that's compatible with LED loads.
What size hole does it need?
A cutout of 65 to 75mm, with the fitting itself measuring 90mm across and 52mm deep.
