A Ground Light You Can Actually Walk Over
The Collingwood GL019 LG is a small, discreet ground light designed to sit flush within decking, paving or garden pathways. Its low-glare design features a honeycomb baffle positioned behind the lens, helping to reduce uncomfortable glare while providing controlled illumination. This makes it particularly suitable for terraces, pathways and outdoor spaces where a subtle lighting effect is preferred.
Antique Brass Finish
This version features an attractive antique brass finish, offering a warmer, more traditional appearance than stainless steel. The rich brass colouring complements natural stone, timber decking, brickwork and traditional landscaping materials.
The circular bezel provides a neat, understated appearance when recessed into the ground, while the honeycomb lens sits beneath a protective 5mm toughened glass cover.
The antique brass finish is particularly well suited to gardens and outdoor spaces where warmer metallic details are preferred.
How It Works
Behind the lens is an integrated 1W LED module, available in 2200K, 2700K or 4000K, allowing you to choose the colour temperature that best suits your outdoor lighting scheme.
The extra warm 2200K creates a soft, golden glow, ideal for atmospheric garden lighting, while 2700K offers a traditional warm white. For a cooler, crisper appearance, 4000K provides a neutral white light.
The fitting is available with two beam angle options:
- 12° Spot: A narrow, concentrated beam for highlighting individual architectural or landscape features.
- 30° Flood: A wider beam for softer, more general illumination across surrounding surfaces.
The GL019 LG operates on low voltage and requires a separate compatible LED driver. Multiple fittings can be connected in series where permitted by the driver's specifications.
The recessed honeycomb baffle helps control glare, making this a practical choice for areas where people may look directly across or down towards the light.
Where It Works Best
With its compact proportions and IP68 rating, the GL019 LG is designed for discreet installation in outdoor environments.
Its antique brass appearance makes it particularly suitable for traditional patios, natural stone paving, timber decking, garden paths and landscaped terraces.
It can also be used around ponds and water features, subject to the appropriate installation requirements.
With a body depth of approximately 41mm and a 33mm cut-out, the fitting can be considered for installations where available recess depth is limited.

Questions People Ask
Can I walk over the Collingwood GL019 LG ground light?
Yes. The GL019 LG is designed as a recessed ground light with IK07 impact resistance, making it suitable for pedestrian areas such as patios, pathways and decking when installed correctly.
Does the antique brass version need a separate driver?
Yes. This is a low voltage LED fitting and requires a compatible constant-current driver, which is purchased separately. Your electrician should ensure the driver is suitable for the number of fittings being installed.
What is the difference between the 12° and 30° beam angles?
The 12° spot produces a narrow, concentrated beam, ideal for highlighting specific features. The 30° flood provides a wider spread of light, making it better suited to softer, more general illumination.
Which colour temperature should I choose?
2200K produces an extra warm, golden light, perfect for creating a soft, atmospheric effect in gardens and outdoor spaces. 2700K provides a warm white light suited to most residential landscapes, while 4000K offers a cooler, more neutral white for a brighter, contemporary appearance.
Is the antique brass finish suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The antique brass finish provides a traditional appearance that complements natural materials and outdoor landscaping. As with other exterior metallic finishes, its appearance may change gradually through exposure to weather and environmental conditions.
Can this ground light be installed around a pond or water feature?
The fitting has an IP68 rating, making it suitable for demanding wet environments. However, installation in or around water should follow the manufacturer's specific guidance, particularly regarding wiring, connections and driver placement.
How much installation depth does it require?
The fitting has an approximate depth of 41mm and requires a 33mm cut-out. This compact size makes it suitable for locations where installation space is limited, provided sufficient room is available for secure mounting and cable connections.
