A Pendant That Rises Out Of The Ceiling

The 1901 Semi Recessed Pendant sits somewhere between a downlight and a proper pendant. Rather than the whole fitting disappearing into the ceiling void, part of the cylinder head hangs below the surface on a slim cable, so from the room it reads as a hanging light rather than a flush spotlight.

Finished In All White

This version is finished all white, from the round ceiling plate through to the cylindrical head below. The body is aluminium, so it stays light for the installer to handle and holds a clean, even finish once it is up. It works well as a single drop over a desk or small table, or repeated in a run for a more architectural line of light.

How It Works

The ceiling plate uses sprung mounting clips to grip inside a cutout of 64 to 68mm, so there are no visible fixing screws once it is in place. The cylinder head runs on a fixed drop rather than an adjustable one, and houses a 9.6W integrated LED engine.

You choose a fixed colour temperature at the point of order, 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, or a dim to warm option that shifts down to around 1800K as it is dimmed, along with a beam spread of 12°, 24°, 45° or 50°. That means the same fitting can throw a tight pool of light or a broader wash depending on where it is used. It is dimmable, and wired through a mains or specified driver supplied with the fitting rather than a transformer built into the head.

Where It Works Best

With an IP44 rating, this pendant is at home in bathroom zone 2 as well as everyday living spaces. Use a single fitting as a focused drop over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, space a few along a hallway or stairwell for a clean run of light, or bring one into an office or commercial fit out where a semi recessed look is wanted without a full flush downlight.

No. The drop on this fitting is fixed rather than adjustable, so it is worth checking the ceiling plate to cylinder measurement against your ceiling height before ordering.

Can I fit this in a bathroom?
