Collingwood Fire Hood (For use with 1901 Pendants and Rotatable Spots)

This fire hood is a passive accessory that turns a standard 1901 semi-recessed pendant or rotatable spot into a fire-rated fitting. It's designed to sit in the ceiling void over the cut-out, with the light fitting then installed into place beneath it, so you get a proper fire seal without changing how the downlight itself looks from below.

Vent holes in the hood allow heat to escape during normal use, and in a fire the intumescent material inside expands to seal off both the ceiling cut-out and those ventilation holes, stopping flames and smoke spreading through the void. It can be fitted from above the ceiling or from below, which is useful on refurbishment jobs where there's no loft access.

It's supplied on a non-returnable basis and carries Collingwood's 7 year extended warranty when fitted with a compatible 1901 pendant or spot. Worth building into the spec wherever the ceiling above needs a fire barrier, such as between floors or below a loft space.
