How It Works

Light passes through the opal shade rather than around it, so the bulb itself isn't visible and the light spreads more evenly across the space. An E14 lamp holder holds a single bulb inside the 15cm diameter shade. The fitting carries a Class II electrical rating, so no earth connection is needed, and the IP44 protection means water splashing from any angle won't harm it.

Questions People Ask

Will I see the bulb glowing inside?
No. The opal glass diffuses the light so completely that you won't see the bulb itself, even when it's switched on. You'll just see the whole shade glowing gently.

What's the difference between clear and opal shades?
Clear lets the bulb show through and direct light downward. Opal diffuses the light throughout the shade, so it glows evenly and there's less glare. Choose opal for softer lighting, clear if you want to see the bulb or direct light downward.

Is it OK for a shower room?
