Steinel XLED ONE XL S Anthracite - Sensor-Switched LED Floodlight

A Bright Sensor Floodlight for Large Outdoor Areas

The Steinel XLED ONE XL S in anthracite is a powerful outdoor LED security light with a built in motion sensor. It gives 4200 lumens from 42.6W at 3000K warm white, and the sensor covers 180 degrees with a reach of 12 metres. It is a big floodlight, measuring 222mm x 259mm x 215mm, so it suits a large wall or soffit and is more than most small entrances need.

Anthracite Aluminium with a Tilting Head

The housing is dark anthracite aluminium, with a flat opal cover over the LED panel and a silver coloured sensor head on the hinge below. The lamp head tilts through 180 degrees, so the same fitting can be fixed to a wall or to a ceiling and aimed where you need it. The dark finish suits modern cladding, render and concrete.

How It Works

A passive infrared sensor picks up movement and switches the light on. You set how long it stays on, from 8 seconds to 35 minutes, and the twilight level it responds to, from 2 to 2000 lux, using the potentiometer dials on the unit. The light source is an integrated Steinel LED system with a CRI of 80 to 89. It runs from a 220 to 240V, 50 to 60Hz mains supply and is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earth connection. It is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where It Works Best

Steinel lists courtyards and driveways as the main uses. It is a good outdoor security light for a garage forecourt, a carport, a large yard or the side of a house. Because it is wall and ceiling mountable, it also works under a canopy or overhang.

Questions People Ask

Does the XLED ONE XL S switch on by itself? Yes. Its infrared sensor detects movement across 180 degrees with a reach of 12 metres and switches the light on automatically.

How long does the light stay on? You choose. The on time can be set from 8 seconds to 35 minutes.

Can I stop it coming on in daylight? Yes. The twilight setting can be adjusted from 2 to 2000 lux, so the light only responds when it is dark enough.

Is it too big for my wall? It is a large floodlight at 222mm x 259mm x 215mm, so it suits bigger walls and soffits. For a small porch or door, a smaller Steinel sensor light may be a better fit.

Who should install this light? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Can I return it? Yes. You can return this item within 14 days of delivery, provided it is unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging. See our returns policy for full details.
