Steinel XLED ONE S Anthracite - Sensor-Switched LED Floodlight

An Anthracite Sensor Floodlight for Walls and Ceilings

The Steinel XLED ONE S in anthracite is an outdoor LED security light with a built in infrared motion sensor. It gives 2050 lumens of 3000K warm white light from 18.6W, and the sensor reaches 12 metres across a 180 degree area. The light switches on when someone approaches and off again after a time you choose, which suits a driveway, courtyard or the side of the house.

Anthracite Aluminium with a Tilting Panel

This version has a dark anthracite aluminium housing, with a silver toned sensor head and hinge caps that stand out against it. The flat LED panel tilts through 180 degrees on a U shaped bracket, so you can point the light where it is needed, and the same fitting can be fixed to a wall or a ceiling. Steinel states that a powerful reflector helps direct the light.

How It Works

A passive infrared sensor detects movement and switches the light on. You set how long it stays on, from 8 seconds up to 35 minutes, and the twilight level it responds to, from 2 to 2000 lux, using the dials on the unit. The LED is an integrated Steinel system with a CRI of 80 to 89. It is built in and cannot be replaced, and Steinel quotes a life of 50,000 hours. The fitting runs from a 220 to 240V, 50 to 60Hz mains supply, is a Class I fitting and is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where It Works Best

Steinel suggests it for all round the building, including a courtyard and a driveway. It works well as a front door or garage security light, over a side passage, or lighting a patio or carport from the wall or ceiling.
