A Large Sensor Floodlight for Wide Open Spaces

The Steinel XLED Home 2 XL is an outdoor LED floodlight with a built in motion sensor, made for lighting bigger areas such as a long driveway, a courtyard or a large garden. It gives 2124 lumens from 19.3W and the sensor reaches 10 metres across 180 degrees. This is the XL size, measuring 161mm wide x 180mm high x 240mm deep, so it is a sizeable fitting on a wall.

Graphite Finish with an Opal Panel

This version has a dark graphite housing, with a pale opal cover over the LED panel and a clear sensor lens below. The ribbed back of the housing is part of Steinel's HCMC cooling system, a high conductivity magnesium composite that draws heat away from the LEDs. The panel swivels 180 degrees both horizontally and vertically, so you can aim the light exactly where it is needed, and the sensor head swivels separately.

How It Works

A passive infrared sensor picks up movement and switches the light on. Two potentiometer dials set how long it stays on, from 8 seconds up to 35 minutes, and the twilight level it responds to, from 2 to 2000 lux. The sensor is designed for a mounting height of 1.8 to 4 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The integrated Steinel LED system gives 3000K warm white with a CRI of 80 to 89. It runs from a 220 to 240V, 50 to 60Hz mains supply and is a Class II fitting, rated IP44. It fixes to a wall or corner with surface wiring. Where It Works Best

Steinel suggests it for all round the building, including a terrace or balcony, a courtyard and a driveway. The larger panel makes it a good outdoor security light for wide frontages, garage fronts and big gardens where a smaller sensor light would feel lost.
