A Large Sensor Floodlight for Driveways and Courtyards
The Steinel XLED Home 2 XL in black is the larger version of Steinel's wall mounted outdoor LED floodlight, with a built in motion sensor. It gives 2124 lumens from 19.3W, and the sensor covers 180 degrees with a reach of 10 metres. It suits a driveway, courtyard, garden or any bigger area that needs a bright LED security light.
Black Finish with an Opal Cover
The housing and sensor head are black, which keeps the fitting low key against dark cladding, brick or render. The LED panel sits behind a smooth opal cover that spreads the light evenly. The panel swivels fully, 180 degrees horizontally and vertically, so you can aim the beam where it is needed. Steinel uses a magnesium composite cooling system, which it calls HCMC, to carry heat away from the LEDs.
How It Works
A passive infrared sensor picks up movement and switches the light on. You set how long it stays on, from 8 seconds up to 35 minutes, and the twilight level it works at, from 2 to 2000 lux, using the dials on the unit. The sensor works best at a mounting height of 1.8 to 4 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The light source is an integrated Steinel LED system at 3000K warm white, with a CRI of 80 to 89. It runs from a 220 to 240V mains supply and is a Class II fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where It Works Best
Steinel suggests it for all round the building, including a courtyard, driveway, terrace or balcony. It mounts on a wall or corner with surface wiring. It is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction.
