A Bluetooth Sensor Floodlight for Doors and Drives

The Steinel XLED Home 2 SC in white is a wall mounted outdoor LED floodlight with a built in motion sensor and Bluetooth control. It comes on when it detects movement and goes off again after a time you choose. The sensor covers 180 degrees with a reach of 10 metres, which suits an outdoor security light over a front door, driveway or courtyard. The SC version adds control from your phone through the Steinel SmartRemote app.

White Finish with an Opal Panel

This is the white version, with a white housing and a flat opal look LED panel that swivels so you can aim the light. The sensor head sits below the panel and swivels separately, 180 degrees horizontally and 90 degrees vertically. The body is made from a magnesium composite Steinel calls HCMC, which draws heat away from the LED, and the cooling fins on the back are moulded with the Steinel logo.

How It Works

A passive infrared sensor detects movement and switches the light on. The on time can be set anywhere from 5 seconds to 60 minutes, and the twilight setting works from 2 to 2000 lux, so the light only comes on when it is dark enough. The Bluetooth link lets you control the light from the Steinel SmartRemote app on iOS or Android. The sensor works best at a mounting height of 1.8 to 4 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The LED is an integrated Steinel system at 3000K warm white, with a CRI of 80 to 89. It runs from a 220 to 240V, 50 to 60Hz mains supply and is a Class II fitting. Where It Works Best

Steinel suggests it for all round the building: front and back doors, a driveway, a courtyard, a terrace or balcony. It fits on a wall or corner with surface wiring. At IP44 it is protected against splashing water from any direction, and it has an IK03 impact rating.
