A Silver Cube Light That Switches On for You
The Steinel L 840 LED iHF Cubo in silver is a compact outdoor wall light with a hidden motion sensor. It lights when someone approaches, and you can adjust its settings from your phone over Bluetooth. It gives 319 lumens from 9.1W at 3000K warm white. The 160 degree sensor reaches 5 metres, which suits a front door, a patio or a garden wall.
Silver Housing with an Opal Diffuser
The cube has a satin silver body with a white opal diffuser, and it looks lighter and softer against pale render or light cladding than the anthracite version. The body is plastic. Steinel offers the L 840 in silver or anthracite, so check the finish before you order.
How It Works
The concealed iHF sensor uses intelligent high frequency technology and only responds to human movement, so small animals and moving leaves should not set it off. The detection zone can be adjusted on two axes. You can set the time it stays on from 5 seconds to 60 minutes, and the twilight level from 2 to 2000 lux. The best mounting height is 1.8 to 2.5 metres, with 2 metres ideal. A night light function, a soft light start and a 4 hour manual override at 3000K are included. Settings are made in the Steinel app over Bluetooth, and the light can connect wirelessly to other Steinel Bluetooth lights. The LED is built in. It runs from a 220 to 240V mains supply and is a Class II fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Steinel suggests it for a front door, a courtyard, a driveway, a terrace or balcony, or all round the building. It mounts on a wall with surface wiring. Its IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, and it has an IK03 impact rating.
