A Cube Wall Light That Switches On For You
The Steinel L 835 LED iHF Cubo is an outdoor sensor wall light shaped like a soft cornered cube. A concealed sensor picks up people approaching and switches the light on, and you set it up from your phone over Bluetooth. It gives 616 lumens from 9.1W at 3000K warm white, so it works as a neat LED security light beside a front door, garage or patio.
Anthracite Bracket, Opal White Cube
In this version the wall bracket and sensor panel are finished in a dark anthracite grey, set against a frosted opal white diffuser. The contrast keeps it looking crisp on light render and sits quietly against darker cladding or brick. The body is plastic. Steinel also makes the range in silver, so choose anthracite if you want the darker, more understated look.
How It Works
The concealed iHF sensor uses high frequency technology and only responds to human movement. It covers 160 degrees with a reach of 5 metres, and the detection zone can be adjusted on two axes. You set the on time from 5 seconds up to 60 minutes and the twilight level from 2 to 2000 lux. The sensor works at a mounting height of 1.8 to 2.5 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The light starts softly rather than snapping on, and can also run a night light function for 10 or 30 minutes, or all night. A 4 hour manual override gives you steady light when you need it, for example for an evening on the terrace. Settings are changed in the Steinel app over Bluetooth, and several Steinel Bluetooth lights can be linked wirelessly. The LED is an integrated Steinel system with a CRI of 80 to 89. It runs from a 220 to 240V mains supply and is a Class II fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where It Works Best
Steinel suggests it for all round the building: the front door, garden, courtyard, driveway, and terrace or balcony. It mounts on a wall with surface wiring. It is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction, and IK03 for impact resistance.
