A Stainless Steel Sensor Wall Light for Entrances

The Steinel L 22 is a curved outdoor wall light with a built in motion sensor, so it switches on when someone approaches and off again after a time you choose. The sensor covers 180 degrees with a reach of up to 10 metres, which makes it a useful sensor switched outdoor light for a front door, building front or terrace.

Stainless Steel Trim with an Opal Diffuser

This version has a brushed stainless steel frame around a curved opal plastic diffuser, with the sensor set in a small head at the bottom. The steel gives it a clean, slightly industrial look that suits modern and traditional houses alike. The sensor head tilts through 90 degrees, so you can aim it at the area you want to cover.

How It Works

A passive infrared sensor detects movement and switches the light on. The on time can be set from 8 seconds to 35 minutes and the twilight level from 2 to 2000 lux, using the adjusters on the unit. The best mounting height is 1.8 to 3 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The light takes one E27 lamp of up to 60W. The lamp is not included. It runs from a 220 to 240V mains supply and is a Class II fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where It Works Best

Steinel suggests it for the front door, all round the building, a terrace or balcony, and a courtyard or driveway. It is surface wired and mounts on a wall. It is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction.
