A Square Sensor Wall Light for Entrances
The Steinel L 20 in anthracite is a square outdoor wall light with a built in motion sensor. It switches on when someone approaches and off again after a time you choose. The sensor covers 180 degrees with a reach of up to 10 metres, which makes it a neat outdoor security light for a front door, building front or driveway.
Anthracite Stainless Steel with an Opal Diffuser
The square trim panel is stainless steel in a dark anthracite finish, framing a curved opal white diffuser. The sensor head sits below it and tilts through 90 degrees, so you can aim the detection zone precisely. The cover is rated IK07 for impact resistance. Steinel also makes this model with a plain stainless steel finish if you prefer a lighter look.
How It Works
A passive infrared sensor picks up movement and switches the light on. You set the time it stays on, from 8 seconds up to 35 minutes, and the twilight level it works at, from 2 to 2000 lux, using the potentiometers on the unit. Steinel gives a mounting height of 1.8 to 3 metres, with 2 metres ideal. The light takes one E27 lamp of up to 60W, which is not included, so you can choose the bulb and colour you like. It runs from a 230 to 240V mains supply, 50Hz, and is a Class II fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where It Works Best
Steinel suggests it for the front door, all round the building, a terrace or balcony, a courtyard and a driveway. It mounts on a wall with surface wiring, and it is rated IP44, so it is protected against splashing water from any direction.
