A Pendant We Built Because Nothing Else Measured Up
Starry is a tubular copper LED pendant that creates a gentle, twinkling effect wherever it's hung. Moonlight developed it in house after searching the market for an outdoor pendant that combined strong light output with a genuinely reliable IP rating, and coming up short. Starry is rated IP67, so it's built to handle direct rain and even brief submersion, not just light drizzle.
Copper Outside, Lacquered Inside
Starry is made from copper with a brass chain, and left to develop its own natural patina on the outside over time. Left untreated, the inside of a copper tube will dull as well, which gradually softens the light passing through it. To stop that happening, every Starry pendant now has its interior lacquered during manufacture, so the light stays crisp rather than dimming as the copper ages.
How It Works
Each pendant runs on a 3W integrated LED module at 2700K warm white, wired in series as part of a low voltage system. It comes with an adjustable 1m chain and a 2m HO5RN-F cable, and hangs easily from a tree branch, pergola beam or similar support. Starry requires a compatible remote driver, sold separately. We recommend the Hunza Mains Dimmable Driver (T-ELED-60P-C600/2100T), which will run between 1 and 15 Starry pendants per driver set at 900mA. As it's mains dimmable, you can adjust the effect to suit the setting. We recommend installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Where It Works Best
Starry is designed for gardens: strung through trees, shrubs or over a pergola, where it can move gently in the breeze. A single pendant makes a nice accent, but for the full twinkling effect, we'd suggest hanging several together along a branch or beam. It's one of the fittings we reach for most often in our own outdoor lighting projects, and the in situ photos on this page are from gardens we've lit ourselves.

Do I need to buy anything else to install it?

What does the lacquered interior actually do?
It stops the inside of the copper tube from dulling over time, so the light stays as crisp as it was on day one. It's applied to every Starry pendant during manufacture, not a separate option to choose.
How many can I run off one driver?
