A Circle That Never Reads the Same Way Twice
The Orion Round 12 Light in Dries Ribbon glass is the most conversation-starting version of the circular Orion chandelier. Twelve globes, each carrying its own internal ribbons of texture, sit in a perfect circle around a solid brass frame that adjusts between a hanging chandelier and a flush ceiling mount using the included extension rods.
In Dries Ribbon Glass
Dries Ribbon glass is worked during the blowing process so that fine ribbons of texture run through the glass itself, scattering light unevenly rather than passing it through cleanly. Across twelve globes arranged in a ring, the result is a chandelier that seems to have movement in it even when nothing is physically moving, each globe catching the light slightly differently from its neighbours.
Choose Your Finish
Available in Black Gunmetal, Lacquered Burnished Brass, or Polished Nickel, all hand finished in Poland. Lacquered Burnished Brass tends to complement the warmth of Dries Ribbon glass especially well, while Black Gunmetal and Polished Nickel give the fitting a more graphic, contemporary edge.
How It Works
Twelve E14 sockets each take a 5W LED bulb, included as standard, at 2700K for roughly 60W combined, and the fitting is dimmable with a compatible dimmer switch. The circle measures approximately 121cm in diameter, with each globe 20cm across, and the overall height adjusts from around 33cm up to a maximum of about 123cm using the included extension rods and roughly 130cm of cord. Complete weight is approximately 19.5kg. No IP rating is published for this fitting, so it is intended for dry indoor spaces.
Where It Works Best
Given the character of the Dries Ribbon glass, this suits a dining room where the fitting is meant to be the main event, a confidently designed living room, or a restaurant or hospitality space looking for a genuine talking point. Dropped low it becomes the obvious centrepiece of the room; mounted flush it still carries real texture and shifting light even without a full hang.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namysłów, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Schwung considers Dries Ribbon the most demanding of its three glass techniques to produce consistently, since the ribboned texture depends entirely on how the glass is worked by hand during blowing.

Questions People Ask
Why does Dries Ribbon glass look different from Opal or Marble?
The ribboned texture is created by working the glass during blowing so it carries visible internal striations, which scatter light unevenly rather than diffusing it flat, giving a more textured, shifting glow.
Can this be installed with less drop for a lower ceiling?
Yes, use fewer of the included extension rods to bring the fitting closer to the ceiling as a near flush mount.
Is this fitting made to order?
Yes, like all Schwung fittings it is made to order in Poland, with an estimated lead time of 4 to 6 weeks.
