A Six Armed Fitting With Genuine Presence

The Orion 6 Light in Marble glass takes the same radial, six armed design as the rest of the Orion family and gives it a noticeably richer material finish. Each of the six brass arms ends in a globe of Marble glass, and the fitting mounts equally well flush to a ceiling or fixed to a wall, depending on where the room needs it.

In Marble Glass

Marble glass is made by working opaque white strands into the molten glass as each globe is blown, producing a soft, veined, milky pattern that is unique to every piece. Unlike a flat opal finish, Marble glass has depth, so the light travelling through it comes out layered and slightly uneven, brighter in some areas of the globe and softer in others. It is a more textural, more considered glow than a plain diffusing glass.

Choose Your Finish

Frame options are Black Gunmetal, Lacquered Burnished Brass, and Polished Nickel, all finished by hand in Poland. Against the veined Marble glass, Lacquered Burnished Brass tends to read the warmest, while Black Gunmetal and Polished Nickel give a cooler, more contemporary edge to the same globes.

How It Works

The fitting takes six E14 LED bulbs at 5W each, included in the box, delivering around 3000 lumens combined at 2700K and dimmable using a compatible ELV or trailing edge dimmer switch. Overall it measures 35.7cm wide, 84.6cm high, and 24.6cm deep in wall orientation, with each Marble glass globe 15cm in diameter, and it weighs around 6kg complete. There is no IP rating published, so this is an indoor fitting for dry rooms rather than bathrooms. The same fixing points allow it to sit flush against a ceiling or project from a wall as a sconce.

The added material richness of Marble glass suits a formal dining room ceiling, a generously sized bedroom, or a hallway where the fitting is meant to be noticed rather than merely functional. As a wall sconce, it pairs particularly well either side of a fireplace or in a room already furnished with other marble or veined stone surfaces, where the glass echoes the material elsewhere in the space.

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namysłów, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Every fitting is made to order in solid brass and hand blown glass, and Schwung describes Marble as the glass finish chosen when a fitting needs to feel layered and alive rather than simply lit.

No, the veining is created by hand during the glass blowing process, so each of the six globes has its own unique pattern.

Can I fit this as a wall light instead of a ceiling light?

Is a dimmer switch required?
