Seventeen Points of Light in a Full Spherical Burst
The Molecule Spark Round 17 takes the same nucleus and radiating arm design as the smaller Spark Round 10, but very nearly doubles the number of arms, building a fuller, denser sphere of glass and brass overhead. Where the 10 light version reads as a compact cluster, the 17 light version fills out into a genuine sputnik shaped sphere with real scale.
In Frosted Glass
In frosted glass, all seventeen hemispheres diffuse into soft, even discs of light, and with this many arms working together the combined effect is a rich, enveloping glow rather than individual points of brightness. The frosted glass also keeps a fitting this large from reading as visually busy, since no single bulb or bare fixing stands out from any angle.
Choose Your Finish
Available in Black Gunmetal or Lacquered Burnished Brass. Black Gunmetal lets the sphere of frosted globes dominate, with the dark brass arms fading into the background. Lacquered Burnished Brass brings the frame forward, so the arms themselves catch and reflect light between the globes.
How It Works
The chandelier takes 17 x E14, 5W LED bulbs, included, at 2700K warm white and around 7650 to 8500 lumens combined. It is dimmable with a compatible low voltage electronic dimmer. The fitting spans approximately 980mm across, with a drop adjustable from around 1010mm up to 1910mm using the supplied extension rods, so it can be set close to the ceiling or lowered for a double height space.
Where It Works Best
At this scale, the Spark Round 17 is built for a room that can take a genuine centrepiece, a double height stairwell, a grand entrance hall, or a large dining room with high ceilings. Its dense, spherical spread of light also makes it a workable single source for a big open plan space rather than needing several smaller fittings.
Made by Schwung
Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, every fitting leaving its Namyslow workshop is made to order in solid brass and mouth blown glass, and at seventeen arms this is one of the larger pieces in the Molecule family to go through that same hand assembly process.
