The Molecule Single Wall Sconce reduces the Molecule family down to its simplest form, one glass hemisphere on a single brass arm reaching out from a compact wall plate. Where the larger Molecule chandeliers build a whole formation from this same shape, the Single isolates it, making the half globe itself the entire design.

In Frosted Glass

In frosted glass, the hemisphere glows as a soft, even disc of light with the bulb inside fully hidden, rather than as a bright, visible point. That diffusion suits a wall sconce well, since it sits at eye level more often than a ceiling fitting does, and frosted glass keeps the light gentle and comfortable to look at directly rather than glaring.

Choose Your Finish

Available in Black Gunmetal or Lacquered Burnished Brass. Black Gunmetal keeps the arm understated against the wall, letting the frosted glass read as the focal point. Lacquered Burnished Brass gives the arm and wall plate a warm metallic presence of their own, so the fitting reads as a small brass object as much as a light.

How It Works

It takes 1 x 5W LED bulb, included, at 2700K warm white, and is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. The sconce measures 508mm from the wall plate to the tip of the glass, with the plate itself 125mm in diameter, and the glass hemisphere measures 120mm across. It projects 144mm out from the wall.

Where It Works Best

Its small footprint makes it well suited to bedside walls, either side of a mirror or console, or spaced along a hallway. Because it is a single arm rather than a full chandelier, it also works well repeated in pairs or rows, where several units in a line can build the same rhythm as one of the Molecule family's larger multi arm pieces.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, every fitting is made to order in solid brass and mouth blown glass at the Namyslow workshop, this smallest Molecule piece included, since even a single arm goes through the same hand finishing as the largest chandeliers in the range.
