One Hemisphere of Glass on a Long Drop

The Molecule Single Pendant takes the family's signature half globe and hangs it on its own from a slim cable, rather than gathering several onto brass arms. It is the simplest possible expression of the Molecule shape, a single point of light that can be dropped low over a surface or hung close to the ceiling depending on where it is used.

In Transparent Glass

In transparent glass, the bulb inside stays visible through the hemisphere, so the pendant reads as a small, bright point of light with a visible glass edge and a bit of sparkle, rather than a soft glowing shape. It suits spots where the pendant itself is meant to be seen clearly, close to eye level or grouped where several can be compared side by side.

Choose Your Finish

Available in Black Gunmetal or Lacquered Burnished Brass. Black Gunmetal keeps the fitting understated, with the transparent glass and its exposed bulb doing the visual work. Lacquered Burnished Brass adds a warm metallic highlight to the small brass fittings at the top and base of the glass.

How It Works

It takes 1 x E27, 5W LED bulb, included, at 2700K warm white, and is dimmable, though only with a compatible dimmer switch rather than a standard on or off circuit. The cable allows the drop to be adjusted from around 231mm up to 3050mm, so it can sit close to the ceiling or be lowered right down over a table or bedside surface. The glass hemisphere measures 120mm across, and the pendant weighs approximately 1.4kg.

Where It Works Best

Its small scale and long adjustable drop make it a natural choice in pairs flanking a bed, grouped at staggered heights over a kitchen island, or as a single accent above a reading chair. It is also an easy way to bring the Molecule look into a small room where a full chandelier would be too much.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. According to Schwung, every fitting is made to order in solid brass and mouth blown glass at the Namyslow workshop, and even this smallest pendant is finished by hand rather than mass produced.
