A Ten Globe Cluster That Fills a Room with Soft Light

Ten opal mat globes are gathered onto one circular brass canopy, hanging together as a single dense cluster rather than a row of separate pendants. It is one of the largest fittings in the Schwung range, built to be the one piece of lighting a big room needs.

In Opal Mat Glass

Opal mat glass fully diffuses the light source, so every one of the ten globes glows as an even, warm sphere with no visible bulb or hotspot. Multiplied across ten globes, that soft diffusion adds up to a wide, glareless wash of light rather than ten individual points of glare. It is the most versatile and liveable of the three Schwung glass options, and the easiest to live with day to day underneath a fitting this size.

Choose Your Finish

The brass frame is available in lacquered burnished brass, black gunmetal, or polished nickel, so the cluster can sit warm and traditional or cooler and more contemporary depending on the finish chosen.

How It Works

Ten E14 LED bulbs are included, 5W each, 50W in total, and the fitting works with a compatible ELV or trailing edge dimmer switch (not included) if dimming is wanted. It carries an IP20 rating, so it is built for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms. The cluster measures approximately 600mm in diameter and hangs to an overall height of around 1554mm from the ceiling, with each of the ten opal mat globes measuring roughly 200mm across. The complete fitting weighs approximately 20.2kg.

Where It Works Best

This is a fitting for a room with height and space to spare: over a long dining table, at the foot of a staircase, in a double height hallway or entrance, or above a hotel or restaurant reception where one fixture needs to carry the whole space. Because of its size and drop, it needs a taller ceiling than a standard room, and it works best where people will look up at it from below rather than walk close underneath it.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Every fitting, including the Globe Cluster 10, is made to order at the Namyslow workshop in solid brass with mouth blown glass. According to Schwung, the opal mat finish is one of the studio's original signature glass treatments, chosen for how completely it softens and evens out the light.

How much space does the Globe Cluster 10 need?
Allow for its full 600mm diameter and roughly 1554mm drop when planning the space below, plus enough ceiling height above that the cluster does not feel cramped. It suits rooms with generous ceiling height rather than standard rooms.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, it works with a compatible ELV or trailing edge dimmer switch. A dimmer switch is not included and should be checked for LED compatibility before installation.
