Ten glass globes are clustered onto a single circular brass canopy, hanging together as one dense, sculptural ceiling piece rather than a scattering of separate pendants. At this scale, the Globe Cluster 10 is built to be a genuine focal point, not a supporting fitting.

In Dries Ribbon Glass

Dries Ribbon glass is drawn with fine threads running through each globe, so instead of one smooth glow, the light breaks up into delicate, intricate shadows as it passes through the glass. Across ten globes gathered together, that texture repeats and layers, giving the whole cluster a more artisanal, handmade character than a plain diffused glass would. It is the most characterful of the three Schwung glass options, best suited to a room that can carry a bit of visual interest overhead.

Choose Your Finish

The brass frame comes in lacquered burnished brass, black gunmetal, or polished nickel, letting the ribbon texture read against a warmer or cooler metal depending on the finish chosen.

How It Works

Ten E14 LED bulbs are included, 5W each, 50W in total, and the fitting is compatible with an ELV or trailing edge dimmer switch (not included) for dimming. It has an IP20 rating, so it is intended for dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or other wet areas. The cluster measures approximately 600mm in diameter and hangs to an overall height of around 1554mm, with each of the ten Dries Ribbon globes measuring roughly 200mm across. The complete fitting weighs approximately 20.2kg.

Where It Works Best

Its scale suits spaces built around height: above a large dining table, over a staircase void, in a double height hallway or entrance hall, or as the anchor piece in a hotel lobby or restaurant. Because of its size and drop, it needs a taller than average ceiling to hang comfortably, and works best viewed from below or across a room rather than passed underneath.

Made by Schwung

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. Every fitting, including the Globe Cluster 10, is made to order at the Namyslow workshop in solid brass with mouth blown glass. According to Schwung, Dries Ribbon is one of its most labour intensive glass treatments, with the drawn threads formed by hand while the glass is still hot.

What does Dries Ribbon glass look like when lit?
