Choosing Your Finish

Whistling comes in three metal finishes and this is the brushed brass. Brushed brass has a soft, slightly grained surface rather than a high shine, so it reads warmer and quieter than polished brass and shows fewer fingerprints and water marks around a sink or shower. If you want more sparkle on the ceiling, the polished brass version of this fitting has a brighter, glossier gold, and the polished chrome version swaps the warm tone for a cool silver mirror finish. All three share the same glass globe and the same size, so the choice comes down to which metal suits your taps and towel rail rather than anything structural.

How It Works

Three bulb holders sit inside the clear glass globe, each taking a standard E27 lamp. Bulbs are not included, so you will need to add three of your own, and because the glass is clear rather than frosted, the shape of the bulb you choose stays on show. The fitting is rated Class I, which means it needs a proper earth connection rather than relying on double insulation, so it should go in by a qualified electrician. It will dim if you fit dimmable E27 bulbs and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, though it will not dim on its own with standard lamps.
