An Oval Glass Drum With Two Edison Style Lamps on Show
Trilogy is a flush ceiling fitting built around a clear glass drum, oval rather than round, with the two lamps left visible inside rather than hidden behind frosted glass. Fit it with the vintage look filament lamps it is designed for and the bulbs become as much a part of the look as the chrome frame around them.
The Glass and Chrome
The frame is a bright polished chrome and the drum is clear glass rather than frosted or tinted, so whatever lamp you choose will be on full display. There is no coloured finish option on this fitting, the look comes from the combination of clear glass and chrome rather than a choice of metal tone.
How It Works
It takes two E27 lamps, not supplied, and is built for Edison style filament LEDs which suit the exposed glass design, though any standard E27 LED will fit. Wiring is Class I, so an earth connection is required, and it will dim if the lamps you fit are dimmable and matched with a suitable dimmer.
Where It Works Best
This is the smaller of the two Trilogy flush fittings, at 30.5cm across against 40.6cm for the three light version, and it takes two lamps rather than three. It suits a smaller bathroom ceiling or an ensuite where the larger fitting would look oversized. As a flush fitting it also suits rooms with lower ceilings where a pendant would hang too low.
What Quoizel Is Known For
Quoizel built a lot of its early reputation on stained glass work in the Tiffany style, a specialism that started with table lamps and later extended into chandeliers, pendants and wall fittings. This flush fitting takes the brand in a plainer direction, clear glass rather than coloured, but it comes from the same company that has spent decades working with glass as its main material.
