A Brighter Bar Of Three

Three fluted opal glass shades run off a single chrome bar in this wider version of the Swell wall light, each shade throwing a soft, diffused pool of light rather than a hard bright point. In polished chrome the metal is bright and reflective, which suits a bathroom already built around chrome or nickel fittings.

Polished Chrome Or Brushed Brass

This design also comes in brushed brass. Chrome works best where your taps, towel rail or mirror frame are already chrome, so everything reads as one finish. Brass suits a warmer scheme, wood vanities or antiqued mirror glass, where a bright chrome fitting would look too cold. Everything else, the glass shades, the arm shape, the spacing, is identical between the two.

How It Works

Each of the three arms takes a 3.5W LED G9 lamp, three lamps in total, none supplied. It dims if you fit dimmable G9 bulbs with a compatible dimmer switch, otherwise a standard G9 will run at one fixed level. This is a Class I fitting and needs a proper earth connection, so as a hardwired fixture it should be fitted by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

At 61cm wide, this three light fitting suits a wider double mirror or a longer run of wall, somewhere the narrower 35.7cm two light version would leave gaps of bare wall either side. Height and projection stay the same across both versions, at 23.7cm and 17.1cm, so it is really a decision about how much wall you have to fill.

From Oil Lamps To Wired Fittings

Quoizel's first products, back in 1930, were hurricane lamps that burned oil rather than running on electricity. As homes were wired up through the following decades, the company moved with them, into hardwired chandeliers, pendants, sconces and wall fittings like this one.
