A Softer Light Over The Basin

Two fluted opal glass shades sit either side of a small brass rose, each cradled by a curved brass arm that gives this fitting an old fashioned, slightly industrial look. The glass is ribbed rather than plain, so the light that comes through it is soft and even instead of a hard bright dot. In brushed brass the metal has a warm, matte surface rather than a mirror shine, which reads as a proper fixture rather than a piece of jewellery over the sink.

Brushed Brass Or Polished Chrome

This fitting is also made in polished chrome. Brass suits a bathroom with warmer tones, oak vanity units, aged mirror frames or dark tiling, where a shiny metal would look cold. Chrome is the better match for white or pale grey schemes, or where your taps and towel rail are already chrome and you want everything to match. The glass shades and the gooseneck arms are identical either way, so the finish is really the only decision to make.

How It Works

Each arm holds one 3.5W LED G9 lamp, two in total, and bulbs are not supplied so you can pick your own colour temperature. It will dim if you fit dimmable G9 bulbs on a compatible dimmer switch, but a standard G9 will simply run at one fixed brightness. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be properly earthed, and being hardwired it should be fitted by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in.

Where It Works Best

At 35.7cm wide, this two light version suits a single vanity mirror or a shorter stretch of wall above one basin. The three light version of the same design runs to 61cm and is the one to choose either side of a wider double mirror, or where you want light spread further along the wall. Both sit at the same 23.7cm height and project 17.1cm from the wall, so the fitting will look the same depth whichever light count you pick.

Do I need an electrician to fit it? Yes, it is a hardwired fitting and Class I, so it needs a proper earthed connection put in by a qualified electrician.

What is the difference between this and the three light version? This two light fitting is 35.7cm wide. The three light version is 61cm wide with an extra shade in the middle, useful for a wider mirror.
