Two Points of Light, Evenly Spaced

The two light version of the Kolt wall light spreads the same chrome and glass detailing across a wider bar, lighting a bathroom mirror from both sides rather than throwing a single spot to one side.

The Chrome and the Glass

Finished in polished chrome throughout, the backplate here is wider to carry two arms rather than one, each ending in the same glass shade as the rest of the range. An outer clear glass cylinder, squared off at the corners, sits over an inner sandblasted glass sleeve. Photographed lit, the two shades throw an even, diffused light rather than two obvious bright points, which is the effect you want either side of a mirror.

How It Works

Each arm takes a 3.5W LED G9 bulb, two in total, neither supplied. Fit dimmable G9 lamps if you want to dim it, since the fitting itself carries no dimmer. It is Class I, so it needs an earth connection, and being hardwired it should go in by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

With an IP44 rating this is built for bathroom use, though still worth checking which zone your wall falls into using our bathroom lighting zones guide before you fit it near a shower or bath. At 33.1cm wide it sits between the single wall light and the wider three light bar in the same range, making it the natural choice over a standard width vanity mirror, where a single light would look lopsided and a three light bar would overhang the edges.

A Company Still Run By the Family That Bought It

Quoizel has stayed privately owned since Michael Chaikin founded it in 1930. Ira Phillips joined the business in 1964 as Director of Merchandising and Sales, and by 1986 he had bought the company outright. It has remained under Phillips family ownership and management ever since, a longer run of continuous family control than most lighting brands still on the shelf can claim.
