Chance takes the classic flush ceiling shape and warms it up with a Painted Natural Brass frame and a rounded opal glass dome. It sits close to the ceiling, throws a soft even glow through the glass, and looks equally at home over a bath or a landing.

Choosing Your Finish

This version comes in Painted Natural Brass, a warm matte gold tone rather than a shiny polished metal. In the photos you can see the brass frame crossing over the opal white glass dome in a simple grid of horizontal and vertical bars, with the glass glowing from behind when lit. If you want the same shape in a cooler tone, Chance is also made in Polished Chrome.

How It Works

Chance takes two E27 LED lamps, which are not included so you can pick the exact brightness and colour temperature you want. Wiring is Class I, which means it needs a proper earth connection, so we would always recommend having it fitted by a qualified electrician. Fit dimmable lamps and the fitting will work on a dimmer circuit, standard lamps will not dim even on a dimmable switch.

Where It Works Best

At 32.7cm across and 13.6cm deep, Chance sits low and neat on the ceiling, which suits a standard height bathroom ceiling or a smaller landing where you do not want anything hanging down. It is rated IP44, so it is built to cope with the steam and splashes of a family bathroom. Check bathroom lighting zones before you decide exactly where to fit it. The Polished Chrome version shares the same dimensions, so the only real choice between the two is which metal tone suits your fittings.

Quoizel began in 1930 in Manhattan as a small lamp maker, and its first products were not electric at all, they were hurricane lamps that burned oil.
