One Hexagon, Hung Low
Strip the Bismarck family down to its smallest piece and you get this: a single black hexagon on a slim rod, with one brass socket and one bare lamp inside it. Hang three in a row over a breakfast bar or drop just one beside a reading chair. It works either way because there is nothing else to coordinate.
Earth Black On Its Own
The frame is Earth Black, a flat matt finish with none of the sheen you would get from a gloss lacquer, and the socket is aged brass, warm toned and lightly brushed rather than mirror bright. It only comes this one way, though the product tags list black, gold and brass because all three describe something you can see in the fitting. Fit a clear filament lamp and the whole shape stays visible from across a room. An opal lamp will hide the frame behind its own glow, so it rather defeats the point of buying an open geometric design.
How It Works
One E27 lamp sits upright in the brass holder, fully exposed. Bulbs are not supplied. It hangs from a round ceiling rose 13cm across on a rigid rod and chain, adjustable from 35cm to 126.4cm, so you can set the drop to suit the ceiling and the surface below it. Dimming works if you fit a dimmable lamp on a compatible dimmer. It is Class I, meaning it needs an earth connection, and a qualified electrician should fit it.
Where It Works Best
At 25.4cm wide this is the smallest hexagon in the range and the only one sold as a single drop. The wall light shares the same 25.4cm frame but fixes flat to a wall with no adjustable drop. The chandelier gathers five of these hexagons into a 63.6cm circle, and the linear pendant lines five up into a 101.6cm row. Buy this one on its own over a small table or side unit, or in a cluster of two or three spaced along a kitchen island, since the drop range gives you room to stagger the heights.
Quoizel, Built On A Move South
Quoizel operated out of New York from 1930 until 1996, when it moved its headquarters, manufacturing and distribution to Charleston, South Carolina, into a facility with 305,000 square feet of floor space. That's still where the company designs and builds from today, and the low country has fed into the studio ever since. It's a long way from a small Manhattan lamp maker, though the company has stayed privately held throughout, run first by founder Michael Chaikin and then by the Phillips family.

Questions People Ask
Can I hang more than one together? Yes, this is designed to work as a single drop or in a small cluster. The 35cm to 126.4cm drop range lets you stagger two or three at slightly different heights over a counter or table.
How is it different to the wall light? Same 25.4cm hexagon frame, but the wall light is fixed flat against the wall with no drop to adjust, while this one hangs from the ceiling on a rod and chain.
What bulb should I use? One E27 lamp of your choosing. Since the frame is fully open, a clear filament style bulb suits it best and keeps the hexagon outline visible.
