Quintiesse Wellington Single Bathroom Wall Light - Aged Brass

The Wellington single wall light brings a vintage inspired silhouette into a slim, contemporary frame. Tall and slender against the wall yet surprisingly compact in projection, it pairs a steel frame with a warm aged brass finish and a faceted crystal accent, giving it a quiet jewel like presence that suits a mirror surround, a vanity run, or a hallway wanting a touch of period character.

The aged brass finish

This version is built on a steel frame carrying an aged brass finish, a warm, slightly burnished tone that reads as old brass rather than a bright polished metal. The faceted crystal detail catches light from the single bulb and adds a touch of sparkle without tipping into anything showy. It sits comfortably with darker woods, aged mirror frames and other warm metal fittings, and works as well in a traditional scheme as it does against a more pared back, contemporary wall.

How it works

The Wellington takes a single E27 bulb, which is not supplied, so you can choose the colour temperature and style that suits your room. It is dimmable, but only if dimmable bulbs are fitted. This is a Class I fitting, meaning it must be connected to an earthed supply and wired in by a qualified electrician rather than treated as a simple plug in fitting.

Where it works best

Its IP44 rating means the Wellington is built to cope with the humidity and occasional splashes of a bathroom, making it a natural choice either side of a mirror or basin in zones 2 and 3, the areas outside the immediate splash zone around a bath or shower. It is worth checking the zone requirements for your specific bathroom layout before you order. Because it is wall mounted with a fairly shallow 12.1cm projection, it also earns its keep in a hallway, bedroom or landing where floor and surface space is tight and a slim vertical light is more welcome than a wide one.

Quintiesse craftsmanship

Quintiesse describes many of its aged and antiqued finishes, including brass, as hand applied rather than machine sprayed, which is part of why the tone can vary subtly from piece to piece.
