Quintiesse Scholar Single Bathroom Wall Light - Polished Chrome

The single light Scholar is the smallest fitting in the range, one schoolhouse shade on a compact steel backplate, and the only version in the family to pair its glass with a faux silk lining. It suits tighter spaces, cloakrooms, or fitting in a pair either side of a mirror where a wider light wouldn't sit comfortably.

Polished Chrome finish

The steel frame is finished in Polished Chrome, and the shade itself is clear glass with a faux silk inner lining rather than the seeded glass used on its larger siblings, which gives this light a softer, slightly warmer glow than plain glass alone would produce. It suits both traditional bathrooms and more understated contemporary schemes.

How it works

It takes a single E27 LED bulb, not supplied. It's dimmable, but only when a dimmable bulb is fitted, a standard LED bulb won't respond to a dimmer switch. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. Its IP44 rating means it's protected against water splashed from any direction.

Where it works best

At just 17cm wide and 1.5kg, this is the fitting to use where space is tight, either side of a small mirror, in a cloakroom, or anywhere the wider two or three light versions in the range would overwhelm the wall. Its IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, the zones outside the immediate splash area around a bath or shower, so check the zone requirements for your own layout before installing.
