Quintiesse Scholar 3 Light Bathroom Wall Light - Polished Chrome

Scholar brings the clean lines of a traditional schoolhouse light into the bathroom, and this three light version is the widest fitting in the family, spanning a full 63.4cm across the wall. Three arms carry seeded glass shades side by side, making it a natural choice for lighting a run of mirror or a double basin with even, generous light.

Polished Chrome finish

The frame is steel, plated in a bright Polished Chrome that stays crisp and reflective rather than warm, so it reads as clean and contemporary while still nodding to the schoolhouse original it's based on. Each of the three shades is clear seeded glass, with the gentle bubbles and imperfections in the glass catching the light and softening it slightly as it passes through. The combination works well against white or pale tiling, marble effect surfaces, and chrome or nickel taps and fittings.

How it works

The fitting takes 3 x E27 LED bulbs, which are not supplied. It's dimmable, but only if dimmable bulbs are fitted, standard non dimmable LEDs will not dim even on a dimmer circuit. This is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. It carries an IP44 rating, meaning it's protected against water splashed from any direction, appropriate for a bathroom wall light.

Where it works best

At 63.4cm wide, this is the version to reach for above a double vanity unit or a wide mirror, where a single central light would leave the ends in shadow. Because it's IP44 rated, it's suitable for use in bathroom zones 2 and 3, the areas away from the immediate splash zone around a bath or shower, though you should always confirm the zone requirements for your own bathroom layout against current UK wiring regulations. At 3.5kg it's light enough for a standard plasterboard or masonry wall fixing.
