Quintiesse Sawgrass 1 Light Wall Light - Gold Leaf with Antique Glaze

The Sawgrass 1 Light Wall Light takes its shape from the graceful curve of coastal sawgrass, with sharply defined metal fronds curling around a single opal glass shade. It is a compact wall light with a distinct silhouette, equally happy as a single fitting beside a mirror or used in pairs to frame a run of cabinetry.

The Gold Leaf and Antique Glaze finish

Each fitting is finished in a distressed Gold Leaf with an Antique Glaze laid over it, so the metal fronds carry a warm, aged glow rather than a flat, uniform gold. Up close on a wall light this texture reads clearly, catching the light differently depending on the angle you view it from, and it sits comfortably against marble, painted panelling or patterned tile.

How it works

The Sawgrass wall light takes 1 x 40W E14 bulb (not supplied), and dims smoothly if you fit dimmable bulbs, though standard bulbs will not dim. It is wired to Class I, so it needs an earthed supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. It carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against splashing water from any direction, so it is suitable for bathroom use.

Where it works best

At 45.7cm high and projecting 10.2cm from the wall, this is a fitting for bathrooms where you want a decorative light rather than a purely functional one, either side of a vanity mirror, above a freestanding bath, or along a hallway that leads into an ensuite. Because it is IP44 rated, it can be positioned in zones 2 and 3 of a bathroom (the areas outside the immediate splash zone around a bath or shower, under UK wiring regulations), though it is worth checking the zone layout of your own bathroom before deciding on exact placement.
