Quintiesse Pim 5 Light Bathroom Chandelier - Polished Chrome

The Pim five light chandelier takes a favourite midcentury silhouette and reworks it for the bathroom. Five round shades in satin etched cased opal glass are set on slender steel arms that fan out from a polished chrome frame, giving the fitting a light, almost architectural presence rather than a heavy showpiece. It suits contemporary and transitional bathrooms alike, and works equally well as a striking centrepiece over a freestanding bath or a softer wash of light above a run of vanity units.

Polished chrome finish

The steel frame is finished in polished chrome, a cool, reflective tone that bounces light around the room rather than absorbing it. It sits naturally alongside chrome taps and mixers, glass shower screens and mirrored cabinetry, and reads equally well against white sanitaryware or dark, moody tiling where the metal provides a bit of shine.

How it works

Five G9 LED bulbs at 3W each provide the light source; bulbs aren't included, so you'll need to fit your own, and dimming only works if dimmable bulbs are used. The drop is adjustable from around 26.8cm up to 103.2cm, so the chandelier can sit close under a lower ceiling or be lowered further where there's more height to play with. It's a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed electrical supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, the Pim chandelier is built to cope with the steam and occasional splash of a bathroom, and the adjustable drop is genuinely useful if you're working with a higher than average ceiling or want the shades to sit at a specific height above a bath. It's also worth checking your own bathroom's zone layout: an IP44 rating covers zones 2 and 3, the areas outside the immediate splash zone around a bath or shower under UK wiring regulations, so confirm those requirements for your space before you buy.
