Quintiesse Hadrian Single Bathroom Flush Fitting - Opal Glass - Antique Nickel

The Hadrian single light flush fitting is the smaller of the two Hadrian ceiling shapes, a compact domed shade that sits close to the ceiling and holds just one bulb. It's the kind of fitting that works quietly in a smaller room rather than trying to be the centrepiece, and the antique nickel finish gives it a slightly aged, traditional character rather than a modern shine.

Antique nickel and etched opal glass

The antique nickel finish has a soft, muted tone rather than a bright polish, which tends to suit bathrooms with a classic or period feel, alongside white or cream sanitaryware and traditional taps. Beneath it sits an etched opal glass shade, which diffuses the single bulb into an even glow rather than letting it show as a distinct point of light.

How it works

It takes one E27 bulb, not supplied, and only dims if you fit a dimmable bulb, as the fitting has no dimmer of its own. It's a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed supply and installation by a qualified electrician. It carries an IP44 rating, which covers it for splashing water and puts it within reach of bathroom zones 2 and 3, the areas outside a bath or shower's immediate splash zone, though you should check the zone requirements for your own layout, see our bathroom lighting guide for more on this. Where it works best

At 19.6cm across and 18.5cm tall, it's small enough for a cloakroom or en suite, or as a secondary light next to a larger fitting in a bigger bathroom. Because it only holds one bulb, it works better as a supporting light than as the sole source in a large room.
