Quintiesse Hadrian 2 Light Bathroom Flush Fitting - Opal Glass - Chrome

The Hadrian two light flush fitting brings a slice of midcentury character to a bathroom ceiling. A single etched opal glass shade sits low against the ceiling and houses two bulbs, so the light reads as one continuous glow rather than two separate points, useful where you want even, shadow free illumination.

Chrome and etched opal glass

This version is finished in polished chrome beneath the etched opal glass diffuser. Chrome catches and reflects light, so it tends to suit bathrooms with chrome taps, mirrors or white sanitaryware, giving a bright, clean look. The opal glass itself is etched rather than smooth, softening the two bulbs inside into a diffused wash rather than letting them show as distinct bright spots.

How it works

It takes 2 x E27 bulbs, not supplied, and dims only if dimmable bulbs are fitted, the fitting itself has no dimming mechanism built in. It's wired as a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed supply and should be installed by a qualified electrician. With an IP44 rating it's protected against splashing water, so it sits comfortably within bathroom zones 2 and 3, the areas away from a bath or shower's immediate splash zone, though you should confirm the zone requirements for your own bathroom layout, our bathroom lighting guide covers this in more detail. The fitting is supplied ready to wire in, with no bulbs included.

Where it works best

At 30.5cm across and only 11.7cm deep, this is the wider of the two Hadrian flush sizes, and the two bulb layout gives more overall light output than the single light version, making it a reasonable choice as a main bathroom ceiling light rather than just an accent. Its low profile also suits bathrooms with lower ceilings, where a pendant or a deeper fitting would sit too close to head height.
