Quintiesse Barletta 1 Light Pendant - Black

The Barletta pendant makes its case with restraint rather than flourish. A slender rod drops to a clear seeded glass orb, held within a thin anodised aluminium ring, and the result is a pendant that reads as architectural as much as decorative. The matte black finish

Here the rod and ceiling mount are finished in matte black, with steel and anodised aluminium construction giving the fitting its rigidity and the ring its crisp edge. The clear seeded glass shade keeps the silhouette light despite the dark metalwork, so the pendant doesn't read as heavy even when grouped. It's a finish that sits naturally alongside black tapware, matte black door and cabinet hardware, or exposed steel, and works equally well folded into a softer, more traditional room where it becomes the one contemporary note.

How it works

The Barletta has a 6W integrated LED built into the fitting itself, rated at 340 lumens and a warm white 3000K colour temperature, so there's no separate bulb to source or replace. It's dimmable, provided it's wired to a compatible LED dimmer switch. The suspension is adjustable, with a drop that can be set anywhere between 67.5cm and 264.5cm, giving real flexibility over hanging height. This is a Class II fitting, so it doesn't require a separate earth connection, though installation should still be carried out by a competent person.

Where it works best

At 4.5kg it's light enough to hang singly or in a cluster without needing anything beyond a standard fixing point, which makes it a natural fit for kitchen islands and breakfast bars, where two or three hung in a line create a strong visual rhythm. The generous adjustable drop also means it can work in dining rooms with higher ceilings, in living rooms as a statement piece over a side table, or in a bedroom above a nightstand, with the drop simply set to suit the space. That same range of adjustment makes it worth considering for stairwells, where a longer drop can carry the fitting down through the stairwell void.
