Alta Plus: The Most Adaptable Uplight in the Family
Alta Plus is built for projects where a single fitting needs to answer several different lighting questions. With three beam options to choose from, it is the most flexible specification in the Alta range, equally at home grazing a facade or filling a stairwell with light.
Choosing Your Configuration
Alta Plus offers three beam angles, a tight 27 degree spot, a 30 degree option close behind it for a marginally softer edge, and a much wider 47 degree flood for broad, even coverage, giving specifiers real choice between a defined column of light and a gentle wash. Colour temperature is available in 2700K or 3000K, and the fitting can be specified with an IP54 rating for sheltered indoor use or IP67 for full outdoor exposure to rain and standing water. Bezel finish is offered in stainless steel for durability outdoors or powder coated white (RAL 9010) for a quieter, wall matching look, with a black baffle fitted as standard to manage glare.
How It Works
On the IP67 specification, Alta Plus uses a breather gland to equalise internal pressure and stop condensation forming, together with triple o-ring construction sealing the lens, body and cable entry against dust and water. IP67 rated units are fully dust tight and can withstand temporary submersion, while IP54 units are suited to covered locations protected from direct wetting. The Origin Natural engine is built around a custom phosphor recipe engineered for colour accuracy, and its aluminium housing draws heat away from the LED to maintain that colour quality over the long term.
Where It Works Best
Where Alta is the standard specification and Mini or Zero suit tighter or shallower spaces, Alta Plus is chosen when a single project needs more optical range than any one beam angle can offer, for example a mixed use scheme with both tight architectural accents and broader garden wall washes on the same specification sheet. Its three beam options mean the same fitting family can be specified consistently across a site while still matching the beam to each individual application.
Made By Orluna
Orluna's approach to light quality goes beyond a simple lumen figure. Its Origin Natural engine, fitted in Alta Plus, is built to a typical specification of CRI 98 with an R9 value of 99 for accurate red reproduction, alongside TM-30 figures of around Rf 97.7 and Rg 100.4 for faithful colour rendering without exaggeration, and a tight 2 step SDCM tolerance so fittings across a room read as the same colour. An independent review in arc magazine described the resulting output as having well differentiated colours and a clean, soft edged beam, which Orluna sees as more meaningful than chasing the highest output on a spec sheet.

Questions People Ask
Why does Alta Plus offer three beam angles instead of two?
The extra 30 degree option sits between the tight 27 degree spot and the wide 47 degree flood, giving specifiers finer control over how the light spreads.
Is Alta Plus suitable for both indoor and outdoor use?
Yes, it can be specified with an IP54 rating for sheltered indoor locations or IP67 for full outdoor exposure.
What colour rendering can I expect from Alta Plus?
It uses Orluna's Origin Natural engine, with a typical CRI of 98 and an R9 value of 99, designed for accurate, natural colour rendering.
