Rizzatto 171 is the smallest ceiling light in Nuura's collaboration with Italian designer Paolo Rizzatto, a compact, drop shaped mouth blown glass shade set into a satin silver ring that sits close against the ceiling rather than hanging down into the room.
Satin silver and opal glass
The metal ring has a cool, brushed satin silver finish, paired with a mouth blown opal white glass shade that diffuses light evenly with no visible glare or hotspot, its slightly irregular, hand finished surface a reminder that each piece is individually blown.
How it works
Rizzatto 171 takes a single E27 lamp, up to 40W, not included. It's a hardwired fixture, so it needs to be connected by a qualified electrician rather than plugged in. With an IP44 rating, it's also suitable for installation in a bathroom, provided it's positioned in a zone that permits IP44 fittings. Where it works best
Its low profile and generous IP rating make it a good fit for hallways, landings, and rooms with lower ceilings, as well as bathrooms where an appropriate zone allows, offering soft, glare free light without eating into headroom.
About Paolo Rizzatto
The Rizzatto collection is Nuura's collaboration with Italian architect and designer Paolo Rizzatto, co-founder of Luceplan, whose work is held in the permanent collections of MoMA and the V&A. The collection was nominated for the Danish Design Award in 2021.
